I mostly use pre-finished GFS p-wood - Paulownia, "P-Wood" or "Princess Wood", is a true ultra light hardwood that's grown in both asia and the USA, and is used extensively in fine acoustic instruments. The tone and resonance is superb, and playing an unplugged Tele® or Strat® yields a very acoustic-like tone. Other body woods, such as alder, ash and mahogany, can be used as well!

Couple the body with the AllParts Fender® Japan neck of your choice, the best deluxe vintage tuners, vintage Wilkinson compenstated brass saddle (Tele®) or vintage Wilkinson trem bridge (Strat®), pickguard or your choice - or none at all!

Fret Level & Crown?
Fret leveling and crowning ("L&C") is a labor intensive process that makes all the frets as level as possible to one another - the same height above the fretboard.

Afterwards the fret tops are re-radiused ("crowned") and polished so that the strings will meet the frets at one small mid point for best intonation, tone and smooth feel of the fretted strings. No commercial stock guitars are sold with fret leveling and crowning, and most manufacturers do not offer that service. So, you're on your own and will need to seek out a luthier/guitar tech IF your frets need an L&C.

For the very most part, with a "medium to medium low" guitar action, even if the frets are slightly out of level, an L&C isn't required. This is particularly true for the superb Fender® Japan necks. For the lowest action and playbility that any guitar can offer, an L&C is simply a necessary and mandatory requirement.

For any partscaster I create, an optional L&C can be requested at the time of the assembly or within one week of receiving the guitar, at half the normal cost - $50 for a non-maple fingerboard and $60 for a maple fingerboard.
